Marion started his career in banking, where he worked in many positions including finance and community development. In the 1980's, he started a private development company, which still retains many holdings. Those experiences were stepping stones to his service at Utah Non Profit Housing Corporation. Since 1995, Marion has served as the Executive Director of Utah Non Profit Housing Corporation. He has led the growth of the organization to become the largest and most prolific non-profit developer of affordable mulit-family housing in Utah. For more than 15 years, Marion has been the force behind UNPHC's recent growth, managing the development, acquisition or rehabilitation of more than 48 family, senior and special needs properties to date.

Under Marion's direction, UNPHC has directly developed or acquired and rehabilitated more than 2,000 units of mulit-family housing; constructed an additional 34 units of low income single family housing financed by HOME and CDBG funds; constructed 10 single family homes for those making less than 45 percent area median income through CROWN - federal low income housing tax credits and has served more than 16,000 households to-date. The total portfolio is currently valued at more than $130 MM.

Marion's desire to assure that affordable housing stock was not lost through expiring uses, drove the formation of Western Region Non Profit Housing Corporation. Today, he and a core of housing professionals champion preservation efforts both in and outside of Utah. In just several short years, they have preserved and rehabilitated 1,389 units of housing across seven states.
